The first vineyard was started by Vasilios Papachristou, farmer and vine grower,
at the beginning of 1900. Naturally, these days, vine harvesting was made in
the most traditional way, owing to the lack of machines then. Must-making
involved "foot pressing of the grapes" and the handmade wine-press "strofilia"
while the vineyards were cultivated with the plough, a wearisome and
time-consuming procedure.
In 1930, the vineyards came into the ownership of George Papachristou,
who followed the traditional way to cultivate the vineyard and produce wine.
In 1965, when the must-making technique was noticeably perfected,
Evangelos Papachristou took over, who renewed and expanded the vineyard.
In 2002 George Papachristou followed, who, with new spirit and excess love,
continues to write the history that his great grandfather initiated.
